By declaring for the WNBA draft, he’s calling their bluff.

“Please accept this formal document as my official written notification to the Women’s National Basketball Association of my voluntary decision to enter the player pool for the 2027 WNBA Draft,” his letter to the WNBA said. “Consistent with the current league collective bargaining agreement, I am submitting this notice to exercise my draft rights and to affirm that I am at least twenty-two years old and that I have no remaining intercollegiate eligibility, as required by Article XIII, Section 1(b).

“I request that the WNBA League Office verify receipt of this document and direct any future communications to my personal email address listed above. Thank you for your official processing of my registration into the 2027 draft pool.”

This is, in my humble opinion, the correct way to fight another wave of wokeism. We must call their bluff.

Some conservatives have come out and said that this goes too far… that he is actively hurting women’s sports, which is a hard line conservatives have been defending for years now. I don’t see it that way at all.

Much like Ron DeSantis sending migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Enes Kanter Freedom is making Democrats live with the ridiculous ideologies they espouse. Then, everyday Americans will see the illogic of it all and realize the danger of wokeism.

Freedom isn’t the only one, either. Royce White, who is also running for office right now, announced his intent to join the draft.

We all know that an average man would dominate the women in the WNBA on the court, but both Freedom and White are former first-round draft picks. Enes Kanter Freedom played in the NBA for 11 seasons. They were at the top of their sport, and now they will be playing against women unless the WNBA finally agrees to define what a woman really is.

The WNBA announced that such a conversation will happen behind closed doors. However, it’s unclear how they will get around this rule without openly becoming the “nasty hateful bigots” that Democrats have accused Republicans of being for years just for recognizing basic biology.

“I’m telling you, this is a bad idea! You’re going to regret not listening to people like us who lived under Sharia Law!” the man said.

Fauci’s texts reveal he knew about alarming vaccine miscarriage risk, misrepresented data

GOP Sen. Ron Johnson says newly released texts from Anthony Fauci’s old government phone show Fauci privately raised concerns in January 2021 that mRNA vaccines could theoretically cause first-trimester miscarriages, in messages with then-CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and Vivek Murthy — a message Johnson says contrasted with public assurances at the time.

• Johnson, who obtained the phone alongside Sen. Rand Paul amid Fauci’s contempt-of-Congress fight, cited a 2021 New England Journal of Medicine study and calculated what he called an 82% miscarriage rate among vaccinated women in early pregnancy — a figure he says shows officials misrepresented the data.

• Johnson said of the study’s findings: “Of the 827 women, 700 got their vaccination or the injection in the third trimester, 127 got them in trimester one and two, which is where the 104 miscarriages occur,… So the proper percentage is 104 divided by 127, an 82% miscarriage rate with women who got the injection in the first second trimester.”

  “I mean, that is shocking, and they knew it. They knew it, they’re not that stupid. They’re just that devious to play with the statistics that way to misinform, to lie to the American public,” he continued.

• Johnson said his investigation is ongoing and focused on instances where Fauci allegedly said one thing privately while publicly stating otherwise, adding more disclosures are expected.

Mamdani’s wife to travel to Syria, Lebanon with NYPD security detail

Rama Duwaji, wife of NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, plans a September trip to Syria and Lebanon, both on the State Department’s “Do Not Travel” list, accompanied by NYPD officers from the couple’s taxpayer-funded security detail, a mayoral spokesperson confirmed.

• The trip follows Duwaji traveling overseas last month without police protection; a source says she requested the detail this time, and the mayor’s office says the visit involves seeing family rather than official city business.

• Critics, including Dov Hikind of Americans Against Antisemitism, argued sending NYPD officers into the region endangers them rather than Duwaji, given her past pro-Palestinian activism and controversial social media history. Duwaji has also recently drawn scrutiny for pro-Palestinian events abroad and past inflammatory posts, which she apologized for in April without directly addressing criticism of Israel.

Maine Democrat Senate candidate’s event co-hosted by Communist Party USA writer

Democratic Senate nominee Troy Jackson held a June 5 campaign brunch co-hosted by Lorri Nandrea, who has written extensively for the Communist Party USA’s website, according to an invitation reviewed by the Maine Wire. Jackson was running for governor at the time.

• Nandrea was one of four listed hosts who said they’d worked with Jackson on legislation over the years; it’s unclear whether she was a Communist Party USA member when she co-hosted the event.

• Jackson became the Senate nominee in July after replacing Graham Platner, who dropped out amid a sexual assault allegation he denies and had faced earlier scrutiny over past communist ties and a Nazi tattoo. Jackson, who campaigned alongside Platner, now faces Sen. Susan Collins in a closely watched race.

What I found inside clearly shows that the DSA is a communist movement as President Trump has claimed, despite AOC, Zohran Mamdani and other DSA candidates rejecting the label repeatedly in the media.

I attended a DSA party in Brooklyn a few weeks ago and openly disclosed that I was a conservative and a journalist looking to learn about and cover their movement. I was promptly kicked out of the event by an organizer - so I knew this time I needed to fly under the radar.

We revealed that they have a secret ICE hotline, encouraging activist to text the location of ICE agents when spotted around the city so hordes of protesters can show up and interfere with immigration enforcement.

During the nearly 2 hour-long panel discussion at The People’s Forum, we found out that the DSA is using “behind the scenes” operatives including illegal immigrants who they refer to as “companeros” as part of their broader political action.

“You don’t have to have papers to have power,” one of the speakers said.

But perhaps the most alarming discovery was the abundant communist imagery covering the entire headquarters. Keep in mind, DSA candidates frequently claim that they are not communist and mock the characterization from President Trump and others on the right as a new Red Scare.

There were several posters of Vladimir Lenin, the murderous Bolshivik leader who founded the Soviet Union and is responsible for as many as 10 million deaths during the Red Terror and through early Soviet concentration camps and mass forced starvations.

On the wall was a painting of Assata Shakur, an open communist and leader of the Black Liberation Army who was charged in the United States with several bank robberies and murders including a conviction for killing a state trooper. She fled to Cuba after escaping prison and was protected by the communist regime there until her death in 2025.

Several attendees sported the red Bolshevik star on hats and shirts. After I asked one about his shirt, he told be outright that he is a communist and thinks figures like Hasan Piker are not radical enough for him.

A corner near the front had several books for sale, including some written by Lenin, Karl Marx, Claudia Jones and other famous communists.

So why are DSA candidates saying they are not communists while giving speeches at an organization that obviously promotes communism?

The answer is the same reason I got into this meeting so easily in the first place. The DSA is trying to rapidly grow its membership and appeal to centrist Democrats and even former Trump voters as it legitimizes and institutionalizes its movement through our electoral system. So much so that its meetings are usually wide open to the public to lure newcomers.

Communism is a lofty ideal that i’m certain many of these candidates aspire to, but it won’t help them win elections and meet Americans where they currently are. They need to appear moderate and reasonable to achieve electoral victories and focus on broadly appealing agenda points like affordable healthcare and housing.

But on their home turf, where they think they are safe from the public eye, they don’t even flinch at the specter of Lenin or Marx, or the militant maoist Black Panther Party. They surround themselves with and hail communist icons as a reminder of the obvious longterm goal.

“Recently, during a field hockey game in Massachusetts a biological male hit a female player in the face, knocking her two front teeth out!” Burchett said. “These are not rare occurrences, you can find them all over the place!”

Descendant of slaves give strong message to woke Smithsonian

Bishop Earl Walker Jackson, whose great-grandparents were enslaved, told Fox News Digital he believes the Smithsonian National Museum of American History is pushing anti-American “indoctrination,” arguing history should present facts rather than serve as a “tool of social justice.”

• His comments follow a White House report exposing “ideological capture” at the museum, plus renewed scrutiny of NMAH Director Anthea Hartig after a resurfaced video showed her linking history to reparations and “restorative justice.”

• Jackson traced what he sees as broader ideological influence in education, media and entertainment to Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of the United States,” calling it more influential than any other U.S. history text despite being written, he said, as an anarchist’s polemic. Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, now running against Ken Paxton, spoke at a 2021 Taylor PRIDE festival that also featured an 11-year-old boy performing in drag under the stage name “Kween Kee Kee,” alongside adult drag acts.

• Promotional materials billed the child as the event’s “youngest” drag performer and advertised a related “storytime” segment; organizers later pushed back on criticism that the show was inappropriate for a minor.

• The event highlights Talarico’s record on LGBTQ issues, including past remarks calling God “nonbinary,” opposing a GOP bill restricting drag shows around children, and expressing support for transgender youth — positions he’s since softened or removed from his campaign materials as he courts a broader Texas electorate ahead of his Senate bid.

An illegal alien that participated in last year’s anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for pouring two bottles of lighter fluid onto a burning California Highway Patrol (CHP) vehicle and throwing an electric scooter over a freeway overpass near officers.

Yachua Mauricio Flores, 23, was also ordered to pay $253,415 in restitution.

CHP officers became trapped under an overpass while responding to the riots near Los Angeles city hall, with Flores and others hurling objects in an attempt to damage vehicles and injure the officers.

“Flores poured lighter fluid from a plastic water bottle onto a burning CHP vehicle, causing the flames to intensify. He then pointed and directed another individual who lit a liquid substance on fire and poured the flaming liquid onto the same CHP vehicle,” the Department of Justice explained.

The Department of Homeland Security called Flores’ guilty plea a “win for LAW AND ORDER.”

Flores’ guilty plea shows how long it takes to hold leftist rioters accountable. Flores was photographed wearing a bandana on his face in order to hide his identity during the riot.

But Flores’ actions shows how the need for deportations is valid. Here was someone who should not have been in our country and instead of laying low, he happily joined street communists to cause mayhem in our country. While Flores was caught, there are many more in our nation who are actively working to undermine the United States from within.

“He did a lot to damage the future of the country! Trump tried to fire him and then people like you on the left had a panic attack!” Pavlich fired back. “If he had fired Anthony Fauci we would have had a better outcome with COVID!”

ICE arrests 1,200+ in Atlanta immigration sweep

ICE arrested more than 1,200 illegal immigrants in the Atlanta area in an operation dubbed “Operation Safe Community – Atlanta,” with DHS saying 720 had criminal convictions or pending charges, according to Marcos Charles, ICE’s executive associate director of Enforcement and Removal Operations.

• Charles said the sweep targeted violent offenders, citing cases involving sex crimes, domestic violence and DUIs, including a Mexican national with a meth-trafficking conviction and a Salvadoran national with a domestic violence record.

• The operation follows ICE’s record-breaking July, when the agency logged roughly 51,000 immigration arrests nationwide — up from 43,000 in June. Charles said agents have adjusted tactics amid protests and interference attempts, as DHS separately reported a sharp rise in threats against ICE personnel.

Making a point! GOP Senate candidate Royce White to try out for the WNBA as a 35-year-old man

Former NBA player and Republican Senate candidate Royce White says he plans to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft, telling Fox News he now identifies as transgender — a move that follows a similar announcement the same day from ex-NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom.

• Both point to the WNBA’s 2026 collective bargaining agreement, which limits play to “women” but doesn’t define the term or address transgender eligibility or self-identification, as grounds for their bids.

• White said the league should publicly clarify its policy on the issue and threatened a discrimination lawsuit if he goes undrafted. The WNBA players’ union didn’t address eligibility directly but condemned “hate, abuse, and demonization” of transgender people while pledging not to be used as “political pawns.” White faces a Minnesota GOP Senate primary Aug. 11.

Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is facing backlash after a resurfaced clip from a 2020 documentary showed him complaining about visiting Mackinac Island — one of Michigan’s most cherished tourist destinations and the location of the governor’s official summer residence. “I hate Mackinac so much,” El-Sayed said in the footage. “Every time I’ve ever come here I’ve hated it. Why am I here?”

• The clip drew immediate mockery given that El-Sayed was campaigning to represent Michigan, including from Republicans who noted Governor Gretchen Whitmer has enthusiastically championed the island and even pitched it as a filming location for HBO’s “The White Lotus.”

Eric Swalwell allegedly used past romance with Katie Miller to block FBI file release

Former Rep. Eric Swalwell reportedly leveraged a past romantic relationship with Katie Miller — now wife of White House senior adviser Stephen Miller — to help persuade the Justice Department not to release FBI records connected to his contacts with suspected Chinese intelligence operative Christine Fang, according to a New York Post report.

• The files became a flashpoint earlier this year when FBI Director Kash Patel pushed for their release. Swalwell’s team allegedly cited the “long-concluded” relationship with Katie Miller to argue that disclosure would appear politically motivated rather than driven by legitimate national security concerns. DOJ policy generally discourages releasing records that could embarrass individuals absent formal charges.

• The records were ultimately withheld. The DOJ told the NY Post it was unaware of any communications from Swalwell’s attorneys referencing Miller.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced this week new charges against top members within the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the aftermath of the death of their leader, El Mencho.

Offering up to $100 million for information that leads to their arrests, the DoJ said the following members are responsible for extreme violence in Mexico and tons of deadly drugs being sold within the U.S.:

• Juan Carlos Valencia González also known as “Pelón”

• Audias Flores Silva also known as “Jardinero”

• Julio César Montero Pinzón also known as “Tarjetas”

• Carlos Andrés Rivera Varela also known as “La Firma”

• Hugo Gonzalo Mendoza Gaytán also known as “Sapo”

• Ricardo Ruiz Velasco also known as “RR” / “Tripa”

• Julio Alberto Castillo Rodríguez also known as “Chorro”

• Griselda Margarita Arredondo Pinzón

“The American people gave us a mandate to keep this country safe, and we will not rest until it is fulfilled,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche explained. “Today’s unsealing of criminal charges against five high-ranking CJNG leaders marks another decisive step in our campaign to dismantle the cartels that have plagued this country for far too long…this administration will use every tool at its disposal to bring these defendants to justice – no matter where they hide.”

CJNG has been in a period of transition since the Mexican operation in February that resulted in the death of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, a.k.a El Mencho. It has since been reported, his stepson, Valencia González, is now leading the cartel. What makes Valencia González unique compared to other cartel leaders is that he has U.S. citizenship after being born in California.

Both of Valencia González’s parents were cartel operatives.

While it is a good step to increase pressure on CJNG’s leadership, these rewards for information that leads to arrest have not historically been the main way for cartel leaders to be captured.

It speaks to how difficult it is to solve the issue of cartels and how they operate. Even when El Mencho was killed, CJNG not only mounted a large counterattack across 20 states in Mexico, but it has been able to continue its operations without skipping a beat.

This is why President Donald Trump wants to use the U.S. military to attack cartels in Mexico, saying the U.S. government knows the address of members’ homes and their drug labs. He is wagering that the threat of death from a Hellfire missile, not a Mexican or U.S. prison, will be enough to get cartel members to cease their illicit activities.

Naturally, the Mexican government under President Claudia Sheinbaum has rejected Trump’s offer for more direct action, citing sovereignty and past U.S. military action in their country.

That said, the gains in alliances and cooperation the U.S. has made across Latin America gives Trump more leverage to put pressure on Mexico to do even more against the cartels. There may come a point where Trump’s patience will come to an end.

Ran Paul moves to hold Fauci in contempt after Fifth Amendment standoff

Sen. Rand Paul’s Senate Homeland Security Committee is set to vote Thursday on holding Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress after Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times during last week’s hearing rather than answering questions about COVID’s origins, gain-of-function research, and pandemic policy decisions.

• If the committee approves the measure, Paul plans to send a referral directly to the US Attorney for the District of Columbia and the Department of Justice for potential prosecution. Paul has also raised questions about whether Fauci’s sweeping Biden pardon — covering conduct from January 2014 through January 2025 — legally justifies invoking the Fifth Amendment, arguing a pardon already provides immunity from self-incrimination.

• Fauci stated at the hearing that under advice from his attorneys he would exercise his Fifth Amendment rights, citing his “decades-long record of cooperating with Congress.”

White House launches “Fraud Ledger” website to track Anti-Fraud Task Force results

The White House unveiled a new public website called “The Fraud Ledger” Tuesday, designed to document the findings of Vice President JD Vance’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.

• The site tracks three metrics: fraud uncovered through data analysis, fraud stopped in real annual spending, and fraud enforcement through indictments and settlements. Since January 2025, the task force claims to have uncovered $229.9 billion in total fraud.

• The Small Business Administration tops the list with $122.9 billion in uncovered fraud, followed by Health and Human Services at $96.2 billion and the Department of Labor at $7 billion. The task force says it has stopped $56.4 billion in annual fraudulent spending and enforced $55.5 billion through legal actions. Medicaid fraud deferrals include over $2 billion from California and $500 million from Minnesota.

• Vance is simultaneously pushing Congress to codify anti-fraud measures into law, arguing the effort should outlast the current administration.

A Maryland school district in Anne Arundel County is transitioning kids while keeping it a secret. The mother of one of the children said, in her own words, that the school “was secretly helping their daughter pretend to be male at school.”

Donald Trump and his administration are now getting involved and fighting back.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon wrote a scathing demand to the school district:

“By categorically withholding ‘information about a student’s gender identity’ from parents except where ‘legally required,’ AACPS appears to have adopted a blanket, district-wide practice of nondisclosure untethered to FERPA’s enumerated exceptions … parents were denied access to their child’s full record, information was disclosed without parental consent, and the parents were denied a hearing to correct the record. Comply with the law or face us in Court.”

Essentially, the school district implemented a policy of restricting parents from seeing their own children’s health records.

Think about this for a second.

The school district had more of a right to information on children than their own parents.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon cited The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) for her legal challenge against this insane policy. FERPA says that parents have the legal right to access their children’s educational records, and Trump argues that this includes anything related to gender and sex.

Fox News reported that this law has “been used by the DOJ in attempts to overturn similar policies in Maine and California.”

“School districts that hide information from parents are violating federal law,” Dhillon said. “FERPA is not optional, and any districts that attempt to bypass or distort its requirements should expect immediate federal action. In partnership with the Department of Education, the Department of Justice will initiate enforcement proceedings with districts that fail to comply.”

This is another reason why federalism is so important and the Department of Education is an evil agency. Red states can prosecute and punish school districts for doing this on the state level, even when Democrats are in the White House. On the flip side, the Department of Education can try to bypass those states, even if they are doing the right thing.

Stories like these are a good reminder that the uniparty is not a thing. What’s the uniparty? The idea that no matter who gets elected, Republican or Democrat, the outcome in American politics is basically the same. This is incredibly short-sighted.

Do we really think a Kamala Harris administration would challenge this Maryland school district? They would probably give them more funding. Do we really think that male student-athletes would be banned from women’s sports? Of course not; a Kamala Harris presidency would have seen unprecedented levels of trans athletes ruining women’s collegiate sports.

The bottom line is that elections have real, tangible consequences for our children and our families. The Trump administration taking a hardline stance against these rogue school districts proves that who sits in the Oval Office actually matters. It’s time to finally put the uniparty myth to rest, and keep fighting to put parents back in charge of their children’s education and health.

Dr. Abdul El-Sayed narrowly defeated Rep. Haley Stevens in Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary Wednesday, winning by fewer than 15,000 votes out of more than 1.5 million cast — a surprisingly tight margin after polls showed him leading by double digits.

• The race became the most expensive Democratic Senate primary in history, with over $80 million spent. El-Sayed, backed by Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, ran on Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, and ending US aid to Israel.

DSA continues primary sweep as McKinney ousts Michigan incumbent Thanedar

State Rep. Donavan McKinney, backed by the Democratic Socialists of America, defeated incumbent Rep. Shri Thanedar in Michigan’s 13th Congressional District Tuesday, extending the DSA’s remarkable primary winning streak.

• The victory adds to a wave of socialist primary wins this cycle that includes unseating veteran incumbents in New York, Colorado, and now Michigan — with DSA-aligned candidates consistently toppling establishment Democrats.

Ohio dad charged after shooting man accused of sexually assaulting his daughter

Malik Chandler, 31, of Grove City, Ohio, was charged with felonious assault after shooting Diego Montoya Gonzalez, 20, who is accused of sexually assaulting his 11-year-old daughter. Chandler lured Gonzalez to his home by posing as his daughter on TikTok, intending to detain him for police, but fired his weapon when he believed Gonzalez was reaching for a gun.

• Gonzalez was hospitalized and survived. Chandler surrendered to police without incident and was released on $100,000 bond.

• Gonzalez was subsequently indicted on multiple charges including rape and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. He pleaded not guilty in Franklin County Common Pleas Court with bail set at $70,000. Strict conditions were imposed if he posts bond, including no contact with the victim’s family and heavily restricted internet use.

Canadian who slapped pro-Trump teen on NJ boardwalk ordered deported

Kaitlyn Tracey, 33, a Canadian national who illegally overstayed her visa, was ordered deported by a Texas immigration judge Tuesday and pleaded guilty to simple assault, from her July 3 attack on a teenager wearing patriotic clothing at the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk in New Jersey. She was sentenced to time served and will be banned from returning to the US for what the judge described as “a very long time.”

• Tracey’s defense attorney portrayed her as a productive member of society who simply overstayed her visa after marrying an American citizen. The victim’s family, described in court as proud immigrants who celebrate American independence, expressed satisfaction with the outcome through a written impact statement read aloud by the judge.

• Tracey’s husband Matt Geroni, a self-described social media personality, was absent from the hearing. He had previously posted videos on TikTok wishing death upon President Trump and his family, including children.

Federal appeals court upholds Florida’s ban on children attending sexually explicit drag shows

The full US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit ruled 8-5 Tuesday that Florida can enforce its Protection of Children Act, which bans minors from attending live performances featuring nudity, sexual conduct, or lewd displays.

• The ruling vacated a lower court’s statewide preliminary injunction that had blocked the law since 2023, finding the restaurant chain that challenged it was unlikely to succeed on its constitutional claims.

• The law, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2023, makes it a misdemeanor to admit children to adult live performances with sexually explicit content. The majority rejected those arguments, writing the court would not “second-guess the Florida Legislature’s decision to regulate obscenity.”

• Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier called the ruling a “huge victory” after three years of litigation. Hamburger Mary’s could seek Supreme Court review.

Haitians living in the United States are officially on notice after their Temporary Protected Status was allowed to expire following lengthy court battles.

As usual when it comes to immigration policies from the Trump administration, immigration advocates say ending TPS for Haitians is cruel and unfair because Haiti is still embroiled in violence and does not have a stable government. Haitians were initially given TPS after the 2010 earthquake.

The Left’s arguments would have merit had they not glossed over what took place during the Biden-Harris administration. It should be no surprise that Haitians were among the nationalities that were illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border under Joe Biden.

In my experience, I saw hundreds of Haitians crossing into Yuma, Arizona when that region started seeing a spike in encounters. The most infamous episode was when tens of thousands of Haitians flooded into Del Rio, Texas, camping under the international bridge while waiting to be processed and released into our country.

The big question everyone at that time was asking was how could these people be coming from Haiti if they were improvised and flights were not readily available due to the widespread gang violence?

The answer is a large share of the Haitians who were showing up at our southern border were not coming directly from Haiti, they were coming from South America.

The first evidence of this was when reporters were seeing I.D. cards from South American countries that were discarded on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande. These cards were given to Haitians who had settled in countries like Chile and Brazil. But because they were seeing other nationalities have a much easier time crossing into the United States, many of those Haitians decided to join in.

The Los Angeles Times reported in 2021 about the trend of Haitians living in Chile and deciding to head north. By 2020, around 180,000 Haitians were living in Chile and maintained jobs that paid better than back in their home country. In Brazil, their population was around 143,000.

This is why many Haitians ditched their South American cards before crossing into the United States; it would hurt their claims for asylum if American authorities had knowledge of them living elsewhere.

This is not to single out Haitians, they were far from the only demographic who took advantage of our Democrat-induced open border. That said, it is their fault for leaving another country they had residency in and gambling on immigration policy staying the same under a different president.

No one forced them to falsely claim they were coming from Haiti. This is what happens when well-meaning programs like TPS are abused by immigrants and the federal government. Even if they lacked permanent residency in South America, it is still dubious to present themselves to U.S. immigration authorities as coming directly from the troubled island nation.

This is why open borders hurt migrants in the long run. Eventually, the tenuous position they put themselves in creates more problems when the system works to correct itself.

“Why shouldn’t people take you at your word when you say you want to abolish the police?!!” Perino pressed the socialist while showing images of her radical posts on screen.

Good guy with a gun stops Idaho fast food shooting

Jordan Salinas, 35, a healthcare worker who had been horseback riding with his girlfriend, pulled into a Twin Falls, Idaho In-N-Out Burger Saturday when a mass shooting erupted. Using military-style techniques, Salinas drew his legally owned suppressed pistol and engaged gunman Chad Williams after watching him raise a rifle and fire toward vehicles in the drive-thru — the first time Salinas had ever aimed his weapon at another person.

• Williams retreated from the drive-thru after encountering return fire from both Salinas and an off-duty police officer dining at the restaurant. He later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a nearby parking lot. Three people were killed and seven wounded, but Twin Falls County Sheriff Jack Johnson said the casualties would have been far higher without the two men’s intervention.

• Salinas said witnessing a 2021 Boise mall shooting had motivated him to train for exactly such a scenario, reasoning that his role as caregiver for his wheelchair-bound brother made preparation essential.

Trump calls off Iran attack, announces new talks beginning Monday

President Trump canceled a planned “massive” strike on Iran over the weekend after private appeals from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Iran itself. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke directly with Trump Saturday, relaying that regional allies preferred a negotiated settlement and believed a deal was imminent. Trump said he deferred to the Gulf states’ judgment, asking the crown prince whether he’d rather have an attack or a deal.

• New Iran negotiations are set to begin Monday, with Trump saying the framework would address both the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear program. The US position remains that Iran must agree to a cease-fire before substantive talks can proceed. Trump acknowledged skepticism about Iran’s reliability, noting Iranian officials have previously contradicted what they told him privately.

• Trump stressed the US military remains ready to strike at any moment and declined to set a deadline for reaching a permanent agreement.

Todd Blanche rescinds $1.8B Anti-Weaponization Fund to clear path for AG confirmation

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche officially rescinded a proposed $1.8 billion fund intended to compensate targets of alleged government weaponization Sunday, removing the primary obstacle blocking his Senate confirmation as permanent Attorney General. The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on his nomination Tuesday.

• Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis had blocked Blanche’s confirmation, vowing they would not advance his nomination until the fund was permanently killed. Both senators are departing the Senate after feuding with Trump, who declined to endorse Tillis and backed Ken Paxton over Cornyn in the Texas GOP primary. Trump last week floated temporarily withdrawing Blanche’s nomination until both senators leave office.

• Despite rescinding the fund, Trump signaled Sunday he would continue pursuing anti-weaponization compensation through legislation if Blanche isn’t confirmed. Tillis acknowledged Blanche was qualified but warned Trump appeared intent on reviving the payout through other means.

For years, Anthony Fauci asked the American people to trust him. Trust his judgment. Trust his expertise. Trust that unprecedented restrictions on American life were necessary because the science demanded them. Businesses closed. Schools emptied. Churches locked their doors. Families were separated from dying loved ones. Millions of Americans accepted sacrifices they never imagined because they believed the people directing the response were telling them the truth about what they knew, what they did not know, and why those extraordinary decisions were being made.

On July 29, 2026, that trust was finally put to its own test.

Anthony Fauci appeared before the United States Senate under subpoena. For years, America had listened while he spoke. Now Congress was asking the questions. After years of explaining and defending the government’s pandemic response from podiums, television studios, and congressional hearing rooms, Fauci was asked to explain those same decisions under oath.

He repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment.

Every American possesses that constitutional right. The question is not whether Dr. Fauci could remain silent. The question is whether the nation’s most influential public health official, after asking the American people to place extraordinary trust in his judgment, had a corresponding obligation to explain that judgment when Congress finally demanded answers.

That obligation did not arise because he was a private citizen.

It arose because of the authority he exercised.

It arose because of the confidence he asked the American people to place in him.

Trust without accountability is not trust. It is submission.

The hearing carried unusual weight because Fauci’s own contemporaneous diaries had already entered the public record. These were not memoirs written years later. They were private writings made while the crisis was unfolding. In the earliest weeks of 2020, they documented discussions among senior scientists as they evaluated competing possibilities for the virus’s origin. The private record reflects uncertainty during a rapidly evolving public health emergency. Uncertainty is not the problem. Science begins with uncertainty. The question history will continue to examine is whether the uncertainty discussed privately was communicated with equal candor to the public whose lives were being fundamentally altered.

The diaries also reveal a striking personal contrast. Alongside entries chronicling one of the most consequential public health crises in modern history are references to Fauci’s growing celebrity: bobbleheads manufactured in China, a brewery naming a beer after him, flattering media profiles, celebrity phone calls, and public campaigns celebrating his newfound fame. While millions of Americans struggled through isolation, uncertainty, and loss, Fauci devoted part of his private record to documenting his own ascent into celebrity. Death counts and personal elevation appear on the same pages. The juxtaposition is difficult to ignore.

The pandemic imposed costs that statistics alone will never capture. Patients died without family at their bedside under prolonged visitor restrictions. Children experienced profound educational disruption from extended school closures whose academic and mental health effects will be studied for years. Small businesses disappeared. Families were divided over mandates, schools, and public policy. Fauci did not personally write every hospital protocol or every local order, but he became the country’s most influential public health voice. His guidance carried enormous weight, and institutions across America looked to him for direction.

The hearing unfolded against another extraordinary backdrop. President Biden had already issued Dr. Fauci a sweeping preemptive pardon covering years of official conduct. Supporters viewed it as protection against politically motivated prosecution. Critics viewed it as an unprecedented use of the pardon power. Whatever one’s view, the pardon ensured the hearing would be judged not only by the questions that were asked, but by the answers that were never given.

History will examine far more than one Senate hearing. It will examine the evidence available at the time. It will examine the decisions made under extraordinary pressure. It will examine whether dissenting scientific views received fair consideration or were too readily dismissed. Above all, it will examine whether those entrusted with extraordinary authority demonstrated an equal commitment to extraordinary accountability.

That is the question Anthony Fauci was given an opportunity to answer.

He chose not to.

The press conferences will fade.

The television interviews will fade.

The slogans will fade.

The hearing will remain.

Anthony Fauci spent years asking the American people to trust his judgment. When Congress sought an accounting of that judgment under oath, he repeatedly declined to answer.

That is not the entire history of the pandemic.

But it will be part of Anthony Fauci’s history.

In a constitutional republic, public trust is never permanent. It must be earned, sustained through transparency, and reinforced through accountability. The greater the authority entrusted to a public official, the greater the obligation to answer the people when they ask why.

Graham Planter’s replacement reportedly has children with cousin

Troy Jackson, Maine’s Democratic Senate nominee replacing rape-accused Graham Platner, has two adult children with his longtime partner Lana Pelletier, who genealogical records show is his second cousin, the Maine Wire reports. The couple, who have been together since high school, share the same great-grandparents, making them second cousins and their sons third cousins to both parents simultaneously.

• The relationship is entirely legal under Maine law, which only restricts first-cousin marriages under certain conditions and places no limitations on second-cousin relationships. Genetic experts generally consider second-cousin pairings to present no meaningful elevated risk of inherited disorders compared to the general population.

• Jackson now faces incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins in one of the nation’s most closely watched Senate races, viewed as a key opportunity for Democrats to flip a seat in their bid to regain Senate control. Jackson has generally referred to Pelletier as his “partner” throughout his political career, though some older biographies listed her as his wife.

49,000 muslim migrants flood Spanish enclave, military deployed amid crisis

Spain’s Interior Ministry estimated roughly 49,000 people — nearly 60% of Ceuta’s total population of 85,000 — crossed from Morocco into the North African enclave within a single 24-hour period Thursday into Friday.

• Spain’s military is being deployed to Ceuta with authorities confirming at least 18 deaths during the crossings. Bodies were seen in the water as rescue operations continued. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska are traveling to Ceuta as Madrid scrambles to restore order.

• Spanish authorities said Morocco is cooperating to regain control of the border, with Moroccan police intercepting migrants and both governments working to return those who entered illegally. Officials have not pinpointed a single cause for the surge, though Ceuta authorities cited a recent Supreme Court ruling limiting immediate sea returns. Migration advocates questioned whether that ruling alone could explain the dramatic escalation.

• The scale of the crisis sent shockwaves across Europe. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni threatened to suspend the Schengen free-travel zone with Spain, Finland backed the proposal, and French far-right leader Marine Le Pen called for immediately restricting cross-border movement to European nationals only.

• Migrants described receiving phone calls that morning alerting them the border was open, suggesting possible coordination. At least 18 migrants died in the crossing.

Leading up to Los Angeles’ mayoral primary in June, Mayor Karen Bass said she deserved to have a second term because her administration has made gains on one of the city’s most pressing issues: Homelessness.

Bass claimed her efforts had reduced the homeless population through “harm reduction” programs and taxpayer-provided housing.

Well, according to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority 2026 annual homeless count, the number of people living on the city’s streets had increased, not decreased.

FOXLA reporter Matthew Seedorff revealed the number of people living on the street had increased 8% compared to 2025. Los Angeles residents Seedorff talked to said they believe the true number is higher given how ubiquitous homeless people are throughout the metro area.

What is Bass’ explanation for the increase? In one word: Deflection.

Bass shifted blame to how Los Angeles “couldn’t keep up with policies and funding cuts on the federal and state level. The Trump administration has driven up the cost of gas, groceries, and rent — and slashed critical safety net funding.”

Bass also blamed California Governor Gavin Newsom and Sacramento Democrats, though without naming them specifically, for cutting $70 million in spending for supposed homeless reduction efforts.

The LAHSA’s findings confirm that Democrats’ stewardship of the city has been nothing short of a disaster. The touted decrease in homelessness is hardly anything to celebrate. LAHSA said 2025’s population had only decreased by 1,553 people. There were still over 43,000 people all around the city.

As someone who has reported on the problem in Los Angeles for a few years, I can say one of the biggest misconceptions is that most of the homeless want to get off the street. In my experience, many enjoy the perks of LA-style camping: Organizations give them free items, anything from clothes to needles, and they get to live without paying taxes while still being able to feed their drug habits.

That’s not to say it is a total lost cause, as there are many cases of people getting their life back on track, but the progressive worldview thinks simply building housing and blaming the Trump administration is enough to solve the problem. The actual causes run much deeper.

The incentives to live off of the local and state programs is too tempting for many who know those progressive ideals will not force them to change. So long as Democrats like Bass are in charge, LA residents will have to get used to the street conditions.

White House blasts Spain as 2,000 migrants surge into Ceuta in 10 days

More than 2,000 migrants crossed from Morocco into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta in the past 10 days, prompting Ceuta’s president to request a national emergency declaration.

• Madrid denied the request, saying migration flows don’t qualify under Spain’s civil protection regulations. Videos showed migrants swimming around border barriers and streaming through streets as authorities struggled to respond.

• The White House seized on the crisis, affirming Trump’s warnings about European migration policy. Principal deputy press secretary Anna Kelly said Spain’s “far-left, globalist policies” enabled the surge and called on Spain and other countries to “immediately reverse course or risk their own demise.”

• Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who has argued immigration is economically necessary given Spain’s low birth rate, faces mounting domestic criticism from conservatives who contend that guaranteeing social services to underage migrants creates powerful incentives for illegal crossings.

Seattle Storm co-owner suspended after cursing at teen girls wearing shirts defending women’s sports

Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton was suspended for five home games and fined after allegedly approaching two teenage girls at a Tuesday game and calling them “fucking insane” for wearing shirts supporting women’s sports and biological sex distinctions in athletics.

• Onslaught of verbal abuse: The girls, who had participated in a pre-game demonstration supporting Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham and a Washington state ballot initiative barring transgender athletes from girls’ sports, were also subjected to sustained booing and thumbs-down gestures from Storm players and fans, leaving one of them in tears.

• Storm majority owner Ginny Gilder apologized Wednesday, saying every fan deserves to feel welcome. Keaton’s suspension and fine were announced Thursday by ESPN. Security at the arena declined to intervene when organizers asked them to address Keaton’s conduct.

• Cunningham responded on X, praising the girls for their courage and hinting at sending them gifts, while reaffirming her belief that everyone deserves kindness regardless of disagreement.
