Medicine has to be both moral and ethical. Everything new has to be challenged by your peers for medicine to advance. But foremost you are your patients advocate, and your first law is; do no harm.
Here suddenly a peer physician made swooping decisions regarding MY patients based on opinions of others physicians and politicians and their finances, leading to severe consequences. We are all peers. No one is superior. We have knowledge superior in one area and inferior in another.
Practising medicine boils down to the very unique relationship between my patient and me which is protected by many rules and regulations and was now violated and totally disregarded by a few on an enormous global scale.
