GOP Sen. Bernie Moreno schooled CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on her own show for doubting President Donald Trump’s follow-through on his promise to give every American adult $5,000 checks if the GOP wins the midterms.
“The Democrats are really upset that this money is going to go to American citizens! They spent hundreds of billions of dollars on illegals,… That money did not go back to the American people!” Moreno told Collins.

LA homeless-funding fraud crackdown reveals millions of tax dollars stolen, several arrested
Federal authorities charged Michael Young, founder of nonprofit Home At Last, with misappropriating millions from over $118 million in public homelessness funds — including spending on a Tahiti vacation, a vintage car restoration, and a high-end Inglewood nightclub — as part of a broader fraud sweep.
Lakiya Malone, an employee of Special Service for Groups, was arrested on charges she accepted over $180,000 in bribes to fabricate homeless client files, including fake participants, in exchange for priority housing referrals from another nonprofit’s director, who has agreed to plead guilty.
A third defendant, Donye Mitchell, remains at large after allegedly using over $1.2 million in grant money obtained through false claims for personal expenses. Officials warned more arrests could follow as they urge reporting of similar fraud.
El-Sayed had a big problem with breast cancer research and funding, past essay exposes
A 2012 essay from Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed criticized what he called the “breast cancer lobby” for driving disproportionate federal research funding, arguing the disease’s high visibility created an inaccurate sense of “imminent danger” while diverting resources from other diseases with less “social power.”
El-Sayed, who worked as an epidemiologist at the time, drew on a sociology study about single-disease lobbying groups but notably excluded HIV/AIDS organizations from his critique, despite breast cancer killing far more Americans that year.
The essay’s resurfacing raises questions given El-Sayed’s more recent criticism of Elon Musk for cutting cancer research funding and his interest in serving on a Senate health committee, as he also faces past allegations of workplace discrimination and sexist remarks during his current Senate campaign against Mike Rogers.
Mamdani’s self-proclaimed "gay communist" advisor promoted police abolition and Marxism
Senior adviser to Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Lena Afridi, reportedly makes $185,000 helping the mayor “respond to federal intervention” and previously edited Pinko magazine, which describes itself as furthering “gay communism.” He also reportedly posted a eulogy for a former member of a 1970s Marxist organization, according to deleted posts.
Afridi wrote that police abolition, not reform, is necessary for “true liberation,” and separately praised Aaron Bushnell — the airman who died after self-immolating outside the Israeli Embassy — as someone who “died for truth.”
Afridi is the latest Mamdani hire found to have deleted controversial social media posts before joining City Hall, following similar revelations about other administration staffers, including comments on taxing the wealthy and calling homeownership a “weapon of white supremacy.”
