The homecoming dance for Eden Prairie High School, which sits right outside of Minneapolis, was canceled following a shooting during a football game that is reportedly Somali gang-related.
“Due to last night’s tragic and unfortunate event, we will not be holding our Homecoming Dance this evening,… Holding a dance less than 24 hours after a trauma in our community feels out of place,” said Principal Jaysen Anderson in a statement.
“Too many students, staff and families were directly impacted, and we need to be prepared to adequately support all students and staff when they return to the building on Monday,” he continued.
Alpha News reported the homecoming game at Eden Prairie was evacuated around 9:00 P.M. and multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the shooting. Two males, aged 17 and 18, were injured in the shooting.
Eden Prairie police said the injuries were non-life threatening and “Neither victim is a student at Eden Prairie or Minnetonka schools. The shooting is believed to be targeted.”
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) asked if the mainstream media was going to be honest about the parties who were responsible for the shooting.
“Or are they too concerned about being politically correct? It’s not racist to call out Somali gang violence. Somali gangs are terrorizing our communities and putting our children’s lives at risk. [FBI Director Kash Patel] is on it and understands the threat, but Minnesota’s local and state leaders continue to do NOTHING,” said Emmer.

Unsurprisingly, Emmer’s identification of the issue at hand drew backlash from Minnesota Democrats, claiming his post was “racist.”
It seems there is nothing the Somali community can do that will get Democrats in the state to wonder if the mass importation of said community was a good idea to begin with.
It just so happens that October 3 is the anniversary of the “Black Hawk Down” event during Operation Gothic Serpent in Somalia. What I can’t understand is how some Americans’ takeaway from the Battle of Mogadishu or the “Black Hawk Down” movie was, “You know what, we need THAT culture in the United States.”
There is a fine line between accepting some refugees and mass migration that fundamentally changes the landscape of an area, especially if there was no vote or public input.
I’ll end with a reminder that Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher warned the public in July of this year about the issue of Somali gangs committing crimes in the metro area.
“In the last two years, there’s been 14 Somali homicides, 100-plus Somali shootings, all gang-related,” Fletcher explained.
