Lindsay Clancy jurors complain abut holdout who blocked “not guilty” verdict
Three jurors from Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial told NBC10 Boston they were prepared to find her not guilty by reason of insanity after signing verdict forms, but a lone male holdout refused at the last moment despite acknowledging reasonable doubt.
The jurors described the holdout as “arrogant” and unwilling to engage with the panel’s discussions, saying “He had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children,” despite indicators of Clancy’s severe mental health collapse, including insomnia, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts, in the months beforehand.
The trial, which ended in a mistrial Friday after roughly 38 hours of deliberation over seven days, centered on defense claims that Clancy suffered postpartum psychosis, while prosecutors argued she planned the killings and fabricated her symptoms. Jurors also said they viewed the prosecution’s case as lacking compassion for Clancy.
