Karoline Leavitt joins Fox News as contributor
Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, 29, will join Fox News as an on-air contributor starting Nov. 1, appearing across the network’s news and opinion programming, Fox announced Monday.
Leavitt stepped down in August after her second child’s birth and has since relocated to New Hampshire, saying she wanted more family time while remaining active in supporting Trump and the GOP.
She becomes the second former Trump press secretary to join Fox, following Kayleigh McEnany; Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Leavitt’s White House and campaign background offers a distinctive perspective for viewers.

Trump offers US help as Russia monitors suspected plague outbreak
President Donald Trump said the U.S. is willing to help Russia contain a potential pneumonic plague outbreak, though he confirmed he hasn’t discussed the matter directly with President Putin.
Trump remarked that diseases once easily controlled have grown harder to treat as pathogens evolve, while stressing the U.S. stands ready to assist any country facing similar outbreaks.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. is closely watching reports of a Russian lab worker’s death possibly linked to pneumonic plague, calling it worth monitoring though not currently cause for alarm, given limited U.S.-Russia travel.
The worker, employed at Russia’s Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute, died last week from unexplained pneumonia; regional officials say no related pathogens were found in her body and no other staff have fallen ill, though nearly 200 contacts have been placed under observation as a precaution.
Neither Russian officials nor the WHO have confirmed plague as the cause of death; the WHO says public risk appears low while seeking more details. Pneumonic plague, which spreads via respiratory droplets, can be fatal within a day without prompt antibiotic treatment.
Brazil’s right wing scores historic election gains
Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro’s Liberal Party (PL) led Brazil’s right-wing parties to their strongest electoral showing since the country’s 1985 return to democracy, winning a Senate majority and becoming the largest party in both chambers of Congress, though Bolsonaro fell short of the 50% needed to win the presidency outright, triggering an October 25 runoff against incumbent President Lula da Silva.
Right-leaning parties will hold 49 of 81 Senate seats starting in February, with PL alone jumping from 15 to 28 seats, while PL also became the largest parliamentary bloc in the lower house, breaking a record set in 1990.
In gubernatorial races, right-wing parties won 13 of 20 first-round contests, including PL’s Sergio Moro, the judge who oversaw Lula’s corruption conviction, winning Paraná; the remaining races head to runoffs alongside the presidential election.
