Hero passenger who subdued Flydubai hijacking suspect meets Netanyahu
Yaniv Hayoun, one of the passengers who helped restrain the alleged co-pilot hijacker on Wednesday’s Flydubai flight, met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Ben Gurion Airport still wearing his bloodstained shirt.
Hayoun said he had to briefly take control of the plane himself, drawing on knowledge from watching the aviation disaster series “Mayday,” until one of two off-duty pilots aboard took over and helped land the plane safely.
Netanyahu praised Hayoun and the other passengers as heroes who prevented a “serious tragedy,” after the suspect allegedly attacked the flight’s captain with a knife before the captain managed to alert the cabin and open the cockpit door.
DOJ indicts 10 foreign nationals for voter fraud in Minnesota
The Department of Justice charged 10 lawful permanent residents with federal voter fraud in Minnesota, alleging illegal voting or false citizenship claims spanning the 2022 and 2024 general elections and the August 2026 primary, Attorney General Todd Blanche announced.
Blanche emphasized that only U.S. citizens may vote in American elections, framing enforcement as a nonpartisan legal issue, while DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin warned that noncitizens who vote illegally will face arrest, prosecution, and deportation.
Among those charged: a Liberian woman accused of falsely claiming citizenship to register in 2024, a Lithuanian woman accused of illegally voting in 2022, and a Ghanaian man facing multiple counts for allegedly voting illegally and falsely claiming citizenship across both the 2024 election and this year’s primary.
